Event Description
Whether it’s asking about a sensitive subject or confronting a client about their rude behaviour, we all face difficult conversations from time to time. This workshop will give you a framework that you can use to help work through tough situations.
This workshop will cover-
- How to speak persuasively, ask good questions and listen actively
- Use specific steps to carry out a difficult conversation.
- Maintain safety in a conversation.
- Access additional resources as required.
The objectives of the event are to:
1. Build knowledge and skills related to communication skills.
2. Increase understanding of psychosocial aspects of veteran wellbeing and importance of communication in doing this.
3. Examine the impact of communication when supporting a Veteran and their family.
4. Build Advocate resilience by enhancing required skills.
Delivery mode
The workshop will be delivered via RSL Victoria’s Microsoft Teams application.
This will allow RSL Vic representatives across the State to attend.
Assessment method
All attendees will to participate in the practice exercises that will be included in the workshop.
