An opportunity to engage the volunteer network from across different ESOs, within the COP\'s vast area. Community of Practice creates a defined \'space\' to which enables members to address their shared experiences and collaborate on solutions to practical problems which are encountered in workplace and volunteer environments. They develop a shared repertoire of resources: experiences, stories, tools, ways of addressing recurring problems.
Each meeting provides a space for participants to learn and grow from each other. It addresses both Well-being and Compensation issues where advocates can work together to ensure there is a holistic approach and ensures the maximum use of service provision.
The afternoon will provide a platform for group discussion regarding ongoing mentoring and group activities for continuous professional development
There will be presenters from Service NSW (SNSW) and Trustee and Guardian (TAG) there on the day and someone from the Office for Veterans Affairs will also attend. The session will primarily cover the Cost of Living service provided by SNSW and the Wills and Power of Attorney services offered by TAG but will also touch on the advice and support available through the Department of Communities and Justice for anyone concerned about elder abuse or neglect. The presenters will have power point slides to speak to but will also bring hardcopy collateral about the programs and services.
